How Your Soul Says “Yes!”

Last updated: Jul 29, 2020

“Stay open to whoever and whatever comes along. When you least expect it, life can take your breath away.” Unknown

You know that one friend?

That friend you have that’s more than a best friend and maybe even more than family?

It’s that soul sister that you can go weeks without seeing, but when you get back together, it’s like no time at all has passed? Yea, that one.

I have a friend like that.

And every time we get together, we greet each other with a big hug and always, always a peaceful smile and good, long sigh.

That’s the stuff that opens the heart.

Those are the moments that make you sigh.

When you see a beautiful sunset and it makes you stop for a moment to catch your breath before you unconsciously take in a deep inhale and a long, soft exhale as you drink it in……

When the one you love runs his fingers through your hair as you fall asleep at night and finally surrender the cares of the day to his arms and a big, cozy bed…

That’s the stuff that lets the light in.

Those are the moments that make you sigh.

When you just finished a beautiful yoga class, a long, hot shower or a great glass of wine…

When you awake with your windows open on a spring morning, smell the scent from a nearby barbeque or breathe in that ocean air…

That’s the stuff that nurtures your soul.

Those are the moments that make you sigh.

When someone tells you how beautiful you are…

When you step off the plane to the place you’ve always dreamed of traveling…

When you taste something so good, you close your eyes….

When you feel a new hope about the love that’s on its way to you…

When you accomplish something that you never imagined in your wildest dreams being able to do…

That’s the “make-this-moment last” stuff.

Those are the moments that make you sigh.

Those are the moments that we sometimes take for granted or overlook.

Pay attention to those moments that make you sigh.

That’s your soul saying, “yes.”
