In Love with Love

“We may regret that we’re no longer young, but we’re ecstatic that we’re no longer clueless.” Marianne Williamson

Today is my birthday. 43.

Even if I could, there’s not a single age that I want to go back to….not 39, not 29 and definitely not 19.

At each birthday, I usually take some time to reflect back on the year that has passed.

The last year has contained some profound change for me. I changed careers, got married and built a thriving business that is both meaningful and fulfilling. I had to say good-bye to my dog that I had for almost 15 years, I met and trained with masters in the coaching and speaking business and dramatically expanded my understanding of my spirituality.

But the thing that is so miraculous to me is how much I’ve learned in the past year, mostly about myself.

One of the things I’ve learned is that I love …. Love. All of it. In all its forms.

Love for others, love for the journey and most importantly, love for ourselves.

Even when it’s messy. Even when it’s difficult. And especially when it’s undeniably powerful.

Love is the one thing that none of us can live without.

It’s also the one thing that regardless of our age, ethnicity, educational background or chosen profession, we all struggle with from time to time.

Love is what brought me to this point in my life.

Love is what broke my heart and brought me to my knees.

Love made me lose myself for a bit, but only so I could find my heart forever.

Love is what caused me to finally stop reaching, grasping and controlling so that I could surrender to the wisdom of the journey.

Love is what brought my coaching practice into being.

Love is what lights a path for the women that find me.

Love allowed me to trust myself again and open my heart to someone deserving of the gift that it is.

Love saved my life.

Love is what is constantly calling me forward because the journey just continues.

We are all made from love, we are made for love and when we’re at our best, we live each day in love:

  • Forgiving ourselves for the women we were: Forgiving the times when we lost our voice or abandoned our hearts.
  • Accepting ourselves for the women we are: Knowing that we are equally flawed and fabulous, messy & magnificent, but always worthy and divine.
  • Believing in and always loving the woman we’re trying to become: The stronger, smarter, more aware, most authentic and highest expression of ourselves.

Each year, each day, in each moment we get another chance to learn, to grow, to stretch, to accept, to forgive, to become, to live and to love. And to love is all we’re here to do.

Tell the Truth. Show up in Love. Live in Freedom.
